Northwest Girlchoir is connecting with a strong local community.
Northwest Girlchoir is committed to equity, access, and service, and to sharing our music with audience members from all backgrounds.
Throughout the year, we partner with schools and retirement homes, performing concerts at their location and inviting them to join us at free or reduced cost for our mainstage concerts. In recent years we have performed at schools such as Meridian Park Elementary, Northgate Elementary, and Broadview-Thomson K-8, and retirement homes including Hearthstone, Horizon House, and Mountlake Terrace’s Vineyard Park.
We are especially proud of our partnership with Northgate Elementary, a Title I school just blocks from our facility. In January 2017 we launched a free afterschool choir program there, where 2nd through 5th graders learn and connect through choral singing each week. The boys and girls of the Bravo Choir have learned songs in many languages, performed for peers and parents, and collaborated with our Ensemble and Fresca choirs.
Through Northwest Girlchoir's commitment to service, our choristers and their families participate in community volunteer projects and collection drives, and perform at events for human services non-profits.
If you have ideas for collaboration, would like us to perform at your school, community center, or retirement home, or have a volunteer project our middle- and high-school girls could help with, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org. If you’re interested in partnering with us to fund our outreach programs, please contact Development Director Kate Speck.
