About The Event

LUMA presents WHY WE DREAM, premiering at Benaroya Hall in Seattle on Friday, November 13, 2026, at 8pm. It will be an immersive musical journey into our dreams, why they exist, what they can mean, and how they collide with our waking lives.

Seattle native composer, Mateo Messina’s 27th symphony premiere explores the mystery of dreams and what they might be trying to tell us. His concerts always have many surprises and sensory experiences for the audience and as the night unfolds the line between imagination and reality begins to blur. Performed by the NW Symphony Orchestra and Seattle choirs, including NWGC.

The 2nd hour of the concert features special musical guest, Devotchka performing their music from the beloved Oscar winning film, Little Miss Sunshine! You’ll see excerpts from the film on the big screen with the band performing with the full 80-piece orchestra.

All proceeds from this concert go to kids and families going through treatment at Seattle Children's Hospital!
